Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. After moving to Oxfordshire at the age of five, she enrolled in The Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She was trained for many years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a partially-time theater school in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. By the age of ten she had appeared and played the lead in various Stagecoach performances and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) The movie adaption to J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel premiered for the first time in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma via her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were cast as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first film role was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It set new records for first-day openings and weekday openings and also was the highest-grossing production of the year 2001. The film was praised by critics and the acting performances of the three leading young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an important British paper, called Emma's portrayal "amazing". Later Emma was nominated for five awards for her role in the film. She was the winner of the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in the Feature Film.
