Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actress as well as a television host. She's most famous as the protagonist of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her show business career early. She was a lead actress in dramas on television as young at the age of 16. After the critically-acclaimed performance in the show Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy role like Adolf's secretary Traudljunge as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. This film received nominations for an Oscar and received critical acclaim. Other Oscar nominated film starring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra was involved in a variety of notable national and international projects over her career. The most notable of these include British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French documentary about the history of Napoleon in addition to other projects. Furthermore, she was a member of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
