Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian who has been around for quite a while. Born in Kildare, Ireland on the 16th of March 1984. She appeared on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh Sullivan (born on March 16, 1984), also known as Aisling bea, is an Irish comedian actor, writer and director. Bea started appearing as bit roles in Irish or British TV shows in 2009, made her debut as an stand-up comic in the year 2011. By 2012 she was regularly appearing on sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms. After winning an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began being booked frequently for different panel shows, where she was a frequent guest. She was captain of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team from 2016-2017 and is an ongoing contestant on its spinoff, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was the child of Brian O'Sullivan as well as Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead is her younger sister. She became only the second female to win So You Think You're Funny in the year 2012. The surname she uses is Bea to pay tribute to her late father. Aisling O'Sullivan, also referred to as Cliodhnadh Aisling was born in Kildare town, which is located in County Kildare. Her father Brian was a veterinarian for horses who committed suicide aged three. But, she did not learn the cause of her death until she was 13 years old. In 2017, she published an article in The Guardian about the suicide of her father's relatives and took on the stage name Bea in remembrance of him. Bea's mother Helen, who is also an instructor for jockeys and a former professional jockey was responsible for raising her as well as Sinead. The family was obsessed with horses and race meetings. Bea started out as tourist guides at the Irish National Stud. But she realized her true passion was acting, not racing.
