Amy discovered her passion for acting at 10, when she portrayed Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz" in middle school. At high school, she was involved with drama, and she was a member the Student Council. She also played on the softball and soccer teams. In 1989, Amy graduated high school and enrolled at Boston College. Amy was a member of an improv comedy group in college.
